Schrödinger’s Cat Lite

Product Description – EA EDC × 01 EDC Schrödinger’s Cat

The Schrödinger’s Cat, a collaboration between EA EDC × 01 EDC, is a highly configurable EDC slider built around four interactive systems: adjustable magnetic feedback, seesaw linkage, dual mechanical tracks, and a specially tuned super-dense track.

The glue-free magnetic system allows 1–4 magnets to be installed in the pre-cut frame slots. Slight movement within the magnetic structure creates a subtle sand-like tactile sensation, while POM strips maintain smooth, controlled sliding. A full four-magnet setup provides firmer clicks, while magnets positioned only at both ends create longer, smoother travel with automatic reset.

For additional feedback, 1.2 mm steel beads can be installed on both sides of the magnetic holes to activate the seesaw linkage, creating synchronized movement and another layer of tactile response.

The reversible mechanical structure provides two distinct track styles: a Super-Dense Track on one side and a Segmented Track on the other. A single-bead configuration produces clearly separated segmented feedback, while dual beads combined with the offset spring position create mixed high- and low-tone acoustic and tactile responses.

The main feature of this special-material version is its tuned Super-Dense Track. By placing beads in different track positions, the mechanism can be configured for end reset, start reset, or dual reset, with each setup changing the rhythm, resistance, and reset behavior of the slider.

With its modular magnets, steel beads, reversible tracks, and multiple reset configurations, Schrödinger’s Cat offers a highly adjustable mechanical and magnetic fidget experience within a single EDC slider.
